Heat Pump Rebates in Colorado Springs & El Paso County

Real Savings on a New Heat Pump, Explained Simply

A new heat pump comes with some of the best incentives in the state, but the programs change and depend on where you live and who your utility is. We help you figure out exactly what you qualify for, from the Colorado Springs Utilities rebate to the Colorado state tax credit, and we handle the paperwork. Here is how heat pump rebates work for homes in Colorado Springs and El Paso County.

Rebates Are Confusing. We Make Them Simple.

Heat pump incentives in Colorado can stack into real money, but they come from different places: your utility, the state, and income-qualified programs. Each has its own rules, and what you can get depends heavily on your address and who provides your power. The good news is that you do not have to untangle it alone. We tell you what you actually qualify for, in plain numbers, before you commit to anything.
The biggest thing to know locally is that your utility matters. Colorado Springs is served by Colorado Springs Utilities, which runs its own heat pump rebate program, while some other parts of the Front Range are served by Xcel Energy, which runs a different one. That is why a rebate figure your neighbor in Denver mentions may not be the figure that applies to you. We confirm the programs for your specific address.

Our team is licensed and insured, EPA certified, and our technicians average more than 10 years of experience. We pair the right qualifying equipment with proper sizing so your system both performs well and meets program requirements. Heat pump rebates tie directly into our heat pump work and the rest of our heating services for the region.

How to Qualify for a Heat Pump Rebate

Most programs require a qualifying system, typically an ENERGY STAR, AHRI-matched heat pump. We recommend equipment that meets the requirements so your rebate is not denied over a technicality. The right model and the right matched components are what make a system eligible in the first place.
The Colorado state heat pump tax credit requires the system to cover at least 80% of your home’s annual heating needs. We confirm this with a Manual J load calculation, which is part of doing the job right anyway, so the same step that sizes your system correctly also protects your eligibility.
The state tax credit and many utility rebates must be claimed through a contractor registered or approved for those programs. Working with a participating contractor is what lets the savings come off your price.
Your utility decides which rebate you can get. Colorado Springs Utilities customers use the CSU program, while other providers and co-ops in El Paso County have their own, so your address sets the menu.
Some of the largest rebates are income-qualified, based on your household income relative to the area median. If you qualify, the savings can be significant, and we will point you to those programs.
Programs have deadlines, funding limits, and paperwork requirements. We handle the documentation and submit while the system details are fresh, so nothing slips through the cracks.

Why Handle Your Rebates With Us

We Track the Programs
Incentive programs change amounts, rules, and funding throughout the year, and some run out of money before the year is over. We stay current so you are working from today’s numbers, not last year’s, and so you are not counting on a program that has already closed.
Paperwork Handled
Rebate applications and documentation can be tedious. We take care of the paperwork that we are able to, so the savings are not lost to a missed form or deadline.
Proper Sizing Protects Your Rebate
Because the state credit requires covering at least 80% of your heating load, our Manual J load calculation does double duty: it sizes your system correctly and helps confirm eligibility.
Honest About What You'll Get
We give you realistic numbers for your address and situation, not a best-case figure that falls apart at the fine print. You will know what to expect before you decide, including which savings are guaranteed and which depend on approval.
Rebates Plus Financing
Incentives lower the price, and for the rest we offer $500 off system replacements and 0% financing for qualified buyers, so a new heat pump is easier to afford.

How We Help You Get Your Rebates

It starts with your address. We confirm your utility and which programs you are eligible for, then perform a Manual J load calculation and recommend qualifying ENERGY STAR, AHRI-matched equipment sized to meet both your home’s needs and the program requirements, including the 80% heating load rule for the state credit. You get clear numbers showing the system price and your estimated cost after incentives.

From there, we handle the rebate paperwork we are able to and guide you through anything you need to file yourself. Where a program is a point-of-sale discount, like the state tax credit through a registered contractor, it comes off your price at installation. Where it is a utility bill credit or a tax credit, we make sure you have the documentation to claim it. Because amounts and rules change, we confirm the current details at the time of your quote rather than promising a number that may have shifted.

Which rebates actually apply to me?
It depends on your utility and address. In the city, Colorado Springs Utilities customers use the CSU rebate, and most Colorado residents can also use the state tax credit. We confirm your exact eligibility before you commit.
Most Colorado residents do, as long as the heat pump is a qualifying air-source system that covers at least 80% of your annual heating load and is installed through a registered contractor. It is applied as a discount at installation.
Xcel’s per-ton rebates are generous, but they are for Xcel Energy customers, mostly on the northern Front Range. Colorado Springs is served by Colorado Springs Utilities, so in the city you would use the CSU rebate and the state credit instead.
Power Ahead Colorado is a Denver-metro program run through DRCOG, so it does not cover the Colorado Springs and El Paso County area. We focus on the programs that actually apply to your address rather than ones you cannot use.
The federal 25C tax credit was available through 2025 but ended for heat pumps installed in 2026 and later. Today’s savings here come from utility and state programs, which we help you access.
